Labradoodle Lifespan: How Long Do Labradoodles Live?

Labradoodles live 12 to 14 years, a little longer than a Labrador and a little less than a Poodle. The health list is the Labrador's appetite plus the Poodle's glands.

Quick answer: Labradoodles typically live 12 to 14 years. Seniors from about 9. Weight, hips and elbows, ears, and Addison's disease from the Poodle side are the things to know.

How old is your Labradoodle in human years?

Size-adjusted vet chart, Labradoodle lifespan range, life stage and a shareable ID card.

How long do Labradoodles live?

Built from the parents: Labradors 11 to 13, Standard Poodles 12 to 15, with minis at the longer end. Standard-sized Labradoodles age on the large chart, minis on the medium.

For context, the size-class ranges we use across all breeds: small dogs 12 to 16 years, medium 10 to 14, large 9 to 12, giant 7 to 10. Individual dogs beat their breed's range all the time; the range is where the odds sit, not a ceiling.

What decides a Labradoodle's lifespan

Weight

The Labrador appetite often comes through. Measured meals and a visible waist add years to hips and heart.

Joints

Hip and elbow dysplasia in both parents. Buy from scored parents; keep the dog lean.

Poodle-side conditions

Addison's disease and sebaceous adenitis; vague recurring illness in a young dog deserves an Addison's test.

Ears and eyes

Floppy hairy ears trap moisture. Progressive retinal atrophy is testable in both parent breeds.

Labradoodle lifespan FAQ

How long do Labradoodles live?

Typically 12 to 14 years; mini Labradoodles often reach 15 or 16.

Are Labradoodles healthier than Labradors?

Slightly, on average, when the parents are health-tested. The cross does not remove hip, elbow or eye disease; it can dilute obesity tendencies and adds Poodle longevity.

At what age is a Labradoodle a senior?

About 9 for standards, 10 for minis.

Do Labradoodles have Addison's disease?

It appears in the cross via the Poodle side. It is manageable for life once diagnosed; the danger is missing it, so mention the breed when a young dog has recurring vague illness.
